13th – 15th July 2016
University of Sussex, Brighton, UK
(parallel and plenary)
July 2016 saw the second International Exergy Economics Workshop, hosted by the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex.
Building on the first such workshop at the University of Leeds in 2014, the event brought together stakeholders and researchers in the field, with the aim to establish the necessary steps for exploring the potential of exergy economics, both within the wider field of energy economics and on the public policy agenda. Speakers included Michael Kumhof (Bank of England), Robert Ayres and David Stern.
Funding was generously provided by the Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand (CIED), and the Centre for Industrial Energy, Materials and Products (CIE-MAP), both part of the RCUK Energy Use and Energy Demand Centres (EUED) network. Additional funding was also gratefully received from the Association of Instituto Superior Técnico for Research and Development (IST-ID), based in Lisbon, Portugal.
